The past month was a tumultuous one. With issues regarding construction of the New Hall and repair of existing facilities coming to a head. While we did lose some momentum it is important to take it in stride and move on. What we are doing at Khalsa School is very important and should not get derailed due to external factors. We are after all in the month of Vaisakh which gives all of us a reason to be optimistic.
Importantly the website is basically done and while it has taken a lot longer than expected we are now completing finishing touches. This should provide a much more robust platform. At this point we maybe trading off some of the look and feel to make the site easier to navigate and have a cleaner look. Please give it a good run through when it is launched.
Some of the initiatives mentioned in the last Monthly have been implemented with some success, although there is room for improvement. Assembly is conducted every Sunday but we need all the students present to attend. Sewadars Management Sheet (SMS) containing everyone’s schedules has been implemented, is updated every week with new information and it available on the website to view. Evaluations of students are being done continuously and grades given at the end of every month.
Last month we created a Website Committee-CJ Singh, Sumandeep Kaur, Gurpreet Singh, Harvinder Singh, AP Singh and Mandhir Singh. The Committee met once last month and will be meeting this again this week to iron out the last few things before launching the new website. Other Committees will be needed-for Activities & Events, Sojhi Curriculum and Facilities & Budgeting. As required we hope several of you will participate in those Committees to help move Khalsa School Forward.
Work on the Yearbook & Diary is underway. The initial draft is ready. We plan to have a Graduation Ceremony and give these out (for a token fee) along with certificates. The Graduation Ceremony will be in June as the School year ends. A lot of work is being put into making the Yearbook & Diary useful as well as something to look back on and reflect on the 2007-08 Year. We hope you all like it. Please pass along your suggestions and we will see if they can be incorporated.
Thank you.
